"Together, we will breathe clean air," the important conference, attended by leaders of Israel in the field of clean air was held last week, (Nov. 11) at the Be'er-Sheva Performing Arts Center. During the conference, participants were treated to lectures on the topic of, "mutual responsibility as a lever for a healthy and empowering environment". Dr. Aviva Lavi wrote and presented the program "It will be all right" and a panel on the subject in which, Dr. Arnona Eyal - expert in occupational medicine, group facilitator of smoking cessation, in which Haim Geva Sapil - anti-smoking senior leader at the Smoking Prevention Center of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ofer Muchtar Director of Educational Projects of Hapoel Be'er-Sheva, Shachar Tabib, CEO of the Azrieli Mall and Revital Sherinsky, a 6th grader at the Neveh Bamidbar School, winner of the Dr. Markus National Cancer Prevention Competition, all took part.
This was another opportunity for a broad public discourse on smoking that included recommendations and ways of mutual consideration in order to prevent passive smoking. In addition, information booklets were distributed. There was also a performance by comedian, Israel Katorza.
The event was attended by Mayor Rubik Danilovich, Deputy Mayor Dr. Heftsi Zohar, Member of the City Council and Chairman of Municipal Health Committee Prof. Tali Zilberstein, Head of Healthy Cities, Milka Donchin, Director of the Welfare and Social Services Department of the Be'er-Sheva Municipality, Eti Cohen, and the Municipal Health Coordinator and Social Worker Michael Ohayon.
It should be noted that throughout the year, a variety of activities and information are taking place throughout Be'er-Sheva, especially in educational institutions, to promote a healthy and active lifestyle in a variety of areas, especially smoking prevention and damage due to smoking. In addition, it should be noted that the city of Be'er-Sheva is a member of the Healthy Cities network.
The conference is a joint initiative of the Be'er-Sheva Municipality's welfare and social services departments.
