The Municipality of Be'er-Sheva and "Kivunim" - the municipal Culture and Leisure organization, invite all to celebrate Israel's 70th Independence Day celebrations in a variety of locations around the city, including a ton of free cultural events and activities for the entire family.
On the eve of Independence Day (Wednesday, 18/4), Rita, Cafe Shahor Hazak, and Dana Lapidot will appear on the main stage at the plaza at the Be'er-Sheva municipality building. On the children's stage at the plaza of the Be'er-Sheva Performing Arts Center, kids will enjoy a performance of the children's star Yuval HaMebulbal. In addition, there will be performances by local artists and dance groups, as well as a variety of street performances and street vendors throughout the city.
Like every year, the highlight of the evening will be a spectacular fireworks show. Admission is free!
At 20:15, Independence Day celebrations will be held in the 'Hey' neighborhood park, including a number of performances of Jewish culture. On the stage will be the Lehava Band, singer Benny Landau and his band, and a huge musical for the children by "Tuvia and the 366 Group." Admission is free!
Starting at 22:30, a '60s' compound will open in the courtyard of the Negev Museum of Art in the Old City of Be'er-Sheva with performances by "Retroactivity," and "Buck Bit" with hits from the 50's and 60's. Admission is free!
There will be a number of additional events throughout the city including singing around the bonfire from midnight until morning in the Beit Eshel compound at the Be'er-Sheva River Park, a performance by Rafi Shaked, Chaya Golan and Shuli Kimmel, Gideon Hershkowitz on drums and percussion instruments, Ofer Yogev, and more. Admission is free!
The next day, (Thursday, April 19) Independence Day, there will be a dance marathon with the best dancers in the city in the Conch Stadium at 20:30. Admission is free!
