In the framework of the municipal plan for the renewal and development of infrastructures throughout the Old City, the Municipality of Be'er-Sheva, under the auspices of the Economic Development Corporation - Old City and Tourism Administration, has begun the second phase of renovations and development of haHagana, Negba, Sarah Imenu, haAvot streets, and Ketura and Reuma Lanes in the Old City, to benefit residents and business owners.
The completion of the second phase of the project is about 15 months, and includes the replacement of underground infrastructure, laying of an electric network, addition of underground waste bins along the streets, road and sidewalks renewal, construction of pavements in combination with public parking spaces, replacement of street lamps and placement of street furniture, landscaping and more.
This project is one of dozens of different projects implemented in recent years, costing hundreds of millions of shekels, invested in the development and upgrading of the Old City, with the aim of establishing it as a tourism, entertainment, culture and leisure hub.
- During the work, pedestrian crossings will be possible.
- Work will be done Sundays – Thursdays between 7:00 - 17:00 (5pm). Work will be done as necessary on Fridays.
- In the area where works are being undertaken, no vehicles will be permitted to drive or park. Parking will be possible on the surrounding streets.
- Garbage disposal will take place throughout the duration of work on the project.
