New Traffic Circle Inaugurated For The Fallen Fighters Of The Underground

New Traffic Circle Inaugurated For The Fallen Fighters Of The Underground
Publish Date: 10/27/2019
On Wednesday, October 23, the Be'er-Sheva municipality held an impressive ceremony to inaugurate a new traffic circle themed in memory of those fallen soldiers who fought in the Israeli Underground. The Circle is located at the intersection of Halamned Hey and Havatzelet HaNegev, in Neve Noy. The square remembers the soldiers of the Haganah, the Irgun, and the Lehi paramilitary groups.

The ceremony was held in attendance of many local public figures including the mayor of Be'er-Sheva Ruvik Danilovich, city council members and residents of the neighborhood. The square was established thanks to the appeal of a resident of Be'er-Sheva, Ya'akov Atias, and in collaboration with residents of the Neve Noy neighborhood and the Beit Yad Livnim branch.

Mayor Ruvik Danilovich talked about the miracle of the Underground fighters' contribution: "The square commemorates the memory of those who gave their lives so that we can live, build, create and love in our own country."
